How to Microwave Boiled Eggs for a Healthy and Fatty Snack
Back in the day, people used to avoid fatty foods like the plague! Nowadays, lots of people are dieting with a focus on eating high fatty foods and avoiding carbs. One of the most popular diets with this focus is the ketogenic diet. This diet consists of eating little to no carbs and consuming high fatty foods. Lots of people on this diet have to replace their normal snacks with healthier alternatives.
One of the best snacks for any diet, including the keto diet, is boiled eggs. Boiled eggs have little to no carbs, which makes this a very healthy and nutritious snack. If you’ve ever boiled eggs, you know that it is very time-consuming! I don’t know about you, but I am too busy to sit there and wait to boil water. I would rather just pop them in the microwave!
So how do we microwave boiled eggs? First, you want to place the eggs in a microwave-safe bowl and fill it with water until it is covering the eggs about ½ inch. Afterward, add a teaspoon per egg of salt to the water. This part is important because it helps prevent the egg from exploding in your microwave! Yes, that is an actual possibility!
Some people use a thumbtack to poke a tiny hole in the eggshell for steam release to prevent the egg from exploding under pressure, but salting the water also works. After you salt the water, microwave the eggs for 4-6 minutes depending on how many eggs you have. 2 eggs need to be microwaved for 4 minutes, 4 eggs for 5 minutes, and 6 eggs for 6.
Now, if you want runny eggs, remove them immediately after they are done microwaving and place them in ice-cold water. If you want them more done, let them rest 2-3 minutes in the water you cooked them in. The longer they rest, the more they will harden inside. Add them in cold water to cool before peeling and enjoy them!

Either way, they are delicious to me! To microwave a fried egg in the microwave, you need to add a little oil to a bowl, crack the egg into the bowl, break the yolk, and season it how you want.
You can season it with salt and pepper, salsa, or anything else that comes to mind. Once seasoned, cover the bowl with a kitchen towel or microwave-safe lid to prevent any egg from splattering in the microwave.
