There is a super easy trick that you can use to make microwaving corn on the cob even easier! This one sounds too easy to be true, but it works. In the previous step, you had to remove the husk and silk before steaming the corn. This corn on the cob microwave trick I am about to share with you doesn’t require any shucking! You read that right. The first step is to rinse the ear of corn
I always recommend rinsing produce before cooking it no matter what. Once rinsed, you can just sit the entire ear of corn on a microwavable plate. That was it! All you have to do from here is microwave it on high for 4 minutes and it’s perfectly steamed.
Once it’s done, grab a towel to hold the ear of corn (it will be hot!) and use a knife to cut the stem end bottom of the corn. Afterward, you can slip the corn on the cob right out of the husk easily. Now, you’ve got yourself freshly steamed delicious corn on the cob. It is juicy and flavorful. The corn husk retains the moisture of the corn so that it steams it naturally.
It gives the corn more of a fresh corn flavor when you steam it this way too. You don’t need a bowl, water, or plastic wrap. This trick saves time and money! Why waste plastic wrap when you can just leave the husk on? This works great on a fresh ear of corn, but what if all you have is frozen corn?
How to Cook Frozen Corn on the Cob in the Microwave
Shucking an ear of corn and microwaving fresh corn on the cob is easy, but can you do this with frozen corn? Many people buy frozen produce because produce can stay frozen for a while without spoiling. This means that people may want to learn to microwave their frozen corn on the cob.
