  • 4 to 5 pieces of bacon
  • ¼ tsp. of garlic powder and sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • A spoon

Instruction

  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat
  2. Place the small pieces of bacon and chopped onion into the pan and cook until softened
  3. Add the drained beans all at once followed by the water 
  4. Add the garlic powder, taco seasoning, and sugar
  5. Heat until the mixture to boiling  
  6. Add salt and pepper to taste
  7. Remove the pan from the heat and serve

Notes

  • If your canned black beans are the kind that has salt added, you should rinse them before cooking to remove excess salt

  • 1 tsp. of onion powder
  • 4 to 5 pieces of bacon
  • ¼ tsp. of garlic powder and sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Tools

  • A microwave
  • Paper towels
  • A microwave-safe dish and bowl
  • A spoon

Instruction

  1. Cook the bacon in the microwave (placing them in 2 layers of paper towels in a microwave-safe dish then set on high for 1 minute)
  2. Check if the bacon is cooked as desired then break into small pieces
  3. Create a mixture from all the prepared ingredients in a microwave-safe bowl
  4. Put the bowl in the microwave and set on high for about 2 minutes 
  5. Take the bowl out and stir, then heat for another 1 minute or until it’s warmed through
  6. Remove from the microwave and serve

Notes

  • This method using the microwave has the same recipe with the above instruction on the stove, but you need to leave the chopped onion off and substitute with onion powder
